What GOCO Were Asked To Do
Warwickshire has a reputation for beautiful architecture, and the university wanted to make sure that they lived up to this expectation. Aiming to continuously improve facilities for students, the university wished to create a protective coating on the roofing systems to ensure that future repairs were limited. This would, therefore, allow the university to save its budget in the future and focus on providing for the students.
The system was installed to the existing deck that had an 18mm OSB board. To make sure that this project ran smoothly, and more importantly safely, the GOCO Services team constructed scaffolding around the area to support the team, as well as the building. This ensured that those below do not walk in an unsafe area while works are being completed. The scaffolding included lift access for materials, along with a hacky staircase for contractors. The final result has provided our client with a waterproof protective layer, helping minimise the risk of future damage to the exterior and interior of the property.
Products Used For This Project
For this project, GOCO Services used a high-quality product from Triflex, which provides clients with a 20-year coating system. This product is a cold liquid that is applied to the surface, giving the roofing system and other infrastructure long-lasting protection. By using this product, the project was completed in a speedy installation, allowing staff and students to access the building as usually within due course. The benefits of this solution include:
- Fast curing process of around 30 minutes
- Low-temperature application – minimises the risk of fires
- Resistant to falling and standing water
- Easy to maintain
- Durable formula
